Business Overview

Grooveshark was a digital music platform that combined music streaming and social features. At its peak, the company had over 30 million users across the globe, connecting listeners, artists and brands through a shared love of music.

My Role & Contributions

I joined right before a huge redesign was about to kickoff—the business was looking to update the UI from its iconic orange, skeuomorphic design to a more modern and mature, flat design.

My first big assignment was identifying opportunities to improve the Artist Dashboard. What started as a few “bandaids” morphed into a complete redesign of the end-to-end user experience for artist accounts, including: account creation, profile building, music editing, and a multi-view analytics page.

I also got to redesign many listener features, like broadcasts, which had become a fan favorite with its live streaming and chat functionality.
